A: Yes, you can preview auction items. However, we do not allow open previews where you can walk around and see everything at our facility. All items available for auction are pictured and described on our website. We encourage you to preview only the items you are specifically interested in. Please review the items online and have a list of lot numbers ready before arriving. When you arrive, check in with the staff at the pick-up area, and someone will assist you by showing you the specific items you wish to see. Please be mindful of our staff’s time and do as much research at home as possible.

Q: What is a Buyer’s Premium?

A: A buyer’s premium is a set percentage added to the final sale price of an item. For example, if there is a 10% buyer’s premium and you bid $100 on an item, the premium will be $10, making the total $110. Indiana tax law requires us to charge tax on the buyer’s premium. Christy’s charges a buyer’s premium at most auction events, and the percentage may vary between auctions.

Q: How Do I Bid at an Auction?

A: To bid, you must register with us and provide your credit card information. You can bid in two ways: by placing a bid at the asking price or by entering a maximum bid and clicking the bid button.

Q: Why are Bidders Required to Follow Bidding Increments?

A: Bidding increments are set to maintain the auction's flow and to prevent bidders from being outbid by minimal amounts, such as a penny.

Q: What is a Soft Close?

A: A soft close is an extension of the auction time for a lot if a bid is placed within the final few seconds of the closing. We typically use a 1-minute soft close, so if a bid is placed with 50 seconds remaining, the clock resets to 1 minute. We advise against waiting until the last second to bid, as the system may not process your bid in time.

Q: What Types of Payments are Accepted for Online Auctions?

A: All online transactions require a credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, unless you are purchasing a titled vehicle or the balance exceeds $1,000.

Q: When are Payments Processed?

A: Payments are processed within 1 hour after the entire auction is complete.

Q: When Do Items Need to Be Picked Up?

A: Items must be removed within the time frame listed on the website, which can be found in the auction terms and Auction Info pages. For onsite auctions (not at Christy’s facility), pick-up times are specific to that location. Items left past the pick-up time will be considered abandoned, and no refunds will be issued.

Q: How Does Pick-Up Work?

A: Christy’s offers curbside pick-up only. Buyers are not allowed inside our facility or any home or business where the auction was conducted. We bring the items to your vehicle, and you are responsible for loading and packing them.

Q: Does Christy’s Provide Packing Material or Loading Help at Location Pick-Up?

A: No, we do not provide packing materials or loading assistance at the pick-up location.

Q: Where Can I Find Pick-Up Times and Locations?

A: All pick-up times and locations are listed on our website. If you have questions, please refer to the website for details. Auctions move to the past auctions section the day after closing.

Q: What Happens If I Do Not Pick Up Items Within the Allotted Time?

A: Items not picked up within the specified time will be disposed of, and you will not receive a refund. Additionally, you will be removed from our bidding website and will not be allowed to participate in future auctions.
