Jack Christy, Sr. is a nationally respected auctioneer, educator, and appraiser with nearly five decades of experience in the auction industry. Licensed as an Indiana auctioneer since 1975, his early career began in livestock auctions, providing a strong foundation in hands-on auction operations.
Jack is the owner and President of Christy’s of Indiana, Inc. Auction. He regularly serves as an expert witness in State and Federal Court and as a judge for Antiques and Collectibles at the Indiana State Fair.
A graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Jack holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Ball State University and is USPAP certified. He maintains ongoing continuing education through the Indiana Auctioneers Association and the National Auction Association and is a graduate of Dale Carnegie Training. Jack is also a current speaker for Toastmasters International.
Jack holds numerous professional designations, including CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute), GPPA (Graduate Personal Property Appraiser), CES (Certified Estate Specialist), USPAP Master Certified Personal Property Appraiser, CAGA Certified Appraiser, BAS (Benefit Auction Specialist), and GA (Graduate Assistant – Dale Carnegie).
An active educator and industry leader, Jack has served as an instructor for the Indiana Auctioneers Association, National Auction Association, Reppert School of Auctioneering, and the Certified Auctioneers Institute, and is a co-author of the Benefit Auction Specialist program.

Jack and his wife Teresa reside in Indianapolis, IN have two children, Melissa Davis and Jack Christy, Jr., and 9 grandchildren.

Jack Christy, Jr. is a third-generation auctioneer and a recognized leader within the auction industry. In 2025, he was inducted into the Indiana Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame and has served as President of the Association in both 2020 and 2025.
Jack proudly continues his family’s legacy through Christy’s of Indiana, where he has helped transform the company into a nationally recognized, online-only auction house. He currently serves as a Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) class advisor and previously served in that role from 2020 to 2023. Jack is also one of the current instructors for the Certified Estate Specialist (CES) program, regularly speaks at state auctioneer association conventions, and is an approved Indiana Continuing Education (CE) instructor.
A graduate of Reppert Auction School (2005), Jack holds the CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute), AMM (Auction Marketing Management), BAS (Benefit Auction Specialist), GPPA (Graduate of Personal Property Appraisals), and CES (Certified Estate Specialist) designations. He specializes in general estate auctions, bankruptcy, and commercial surplus.

Here are some of the requirements, and responsibilities for joining our team.
•Ability to move furniture (at least able to lift 30-50 lbs).
•Set up items to be photographed.
•Unpack boxes of glassware, and household items.
•Describe items for auction and type them into a software.
•Set up items in a eye pleasing way for photos and use an app in a provided iPhone to take pictures
•Ability to work with customers bringing items to their vehicle after they purchase, or any sellers needs.
•Starting time would be 8am-4:30pm preferred
Please note this team is always on our feet on concrete. This is a very physical job
